LAM Kin-Chung, the Chairman of Zhongyang Group and Managing Director of eBizAnywhere Technologies Ltd. He was born in a humble single-parent family, and started to work as messenger, carpet cleaner and security guard on night shift in his early age. Later on, he earned a fortune from investment in the real estate in Hong Kong. Right before the financial crisis in 1997, Dr. Lam wisely sold all his properties in HK. In 2000, Dr. Lam strategically switched his investment focus to IT industry in China as angel fund of [Ninetowns Internet Technologies Ltd] in Beijing. In Dec.2004, [Ninetowns} successfully went for IPO in the Nasdaq at a market cap of USD $400m.

Not only a successful investor, Dr. Lam is also devoted to contribution concerning "Peace, Education and Culture". So far [Lam Kin-chung Morning Sun Charity Fund has contributed US$ 3.5 million since 1992. Building, hall, libraay and seminar room are named after him in Nanjing University, the Chinese University of HK, Harvard University etc.In 2000, Harvard University conferred the title of "John Harvard Fellow" upon him. In 2002, he was honoured as Honorary Citizen of Nanjing. To acknowledge Dr. Lam's continuos support for peace movement, the China Foreign Friendship Association presented the [Peace Development and Contribution Award] to him at People's Grand Hall in Peking on 21 Sep 2008. |
